Day: first pday of my last transfer
Pushup Count: 97
Buenos dΓas mi gente! Como les fue la semama? We had a great transfer week here in Bakersfield. Here's what we did:
- We played volleyball and disc golf last pday and I definitely burned my feet in the sand
- We ate nachos

- We had our transferly social media counsel meeting at Cafe Rio. We talked about media referrals and I ate a giant salad. Wonderful tradition we have going on there

- We filled supply orders for the mission and they were huge this time

- We sat down outside Coldstone to do our Facebook work and a member came by and bought us ice cream

- We taught our awesome friends on campus
- We picked up the new missionaries! There were only two Elders so we ate dinner with the Burtons quick and took them cold knocking and parking lot contacting
- Elder Ricks and I went contacting along the river trail and had a great time (besides one little bash
)
)- We had the easiest transfer day ever. We didn't even have to set up a table

- On Thursday we had a couple of awesome member lessons. Asha's bird almost flew into my head and Kevin showed us his bright red scriptures

- We woke up at 3:20 Friday morning to take the departing missionaries to the airport
We got to go home and sleep in until nine which was super weird

- We watched Alan and Andrew skate together before our lesson in the backyard

- We planned out exchanges for my last transfer

- Tim bought us panda express for dinner and caught us up on all the ysa tea

- We taught Ryan again! It was so good to see him. We taught the plan of salvation and he absolutely blew us away with how much he remembered and has learned since we taught it the first time
- Yesterday Andrea had us over for dinner and we got to thank her mom for being awesome. I'm so grateful for all the surrogate moms I've had on my mission :)
- We got invited to Ethiopia
- A stranger at target bought us waters

- We had a super cool mother's day sacrament meeting where we just sang our mom's favorite hymns the whole time

- I gave a priesthood blessing to my mission president. Never thought that would happen. His surgery the next day went well and now he's got an iron man arm haha.
- We had an evening fireside and talked about the power of the Book of Mormon
It was a really good week. It's strange and exciting to be starting my last transfer. But luckily I'm so busy that I don't have too much time to think about it
. Let me know how y'all are doing. Love you!
. Let me know how y'all are doing. Love you! Spiritual Thought:
Book of Mormon thought of the week—Alma 29:1-2
"1 O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!
2 Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth."
The longer I've been a missionary the more I've been able to relate to Alma's words here. Sometimes I wish that everyone understood the importance of and joy in the message of the restored gospel and plan of redemption. It's amazing! And it's sometimes frustrating that they don't understand. But I take comfort in the fact that God has a plan for all of us, and while I won't be able to make everyone understand during my short mission, He will one day, so I just have to do the best I can while I'm here.
Mucho amor,
