Un misionero apurado

Day: el dia del jucio final

Pushup Count: 133

Hola a todos! Como les fue la semana? This was a crazy busy week for us in the White Oak, but I managed to journal three whole times πŸ˜‚. Here's what happened:

- Elder Gordon took us golfing ⛳ I did really good... Then I didn't. But it was a lot of fun πŸ˜‡
- We ate Costco hot dogs πŸ˜‹πŸŒ
- I gave a training on recent converts in French (kinda πŸ˜‚
- We had our social media council meeting at Cafe Rio πŸ˜‹
- We filled supply orders πŸ€―
- One of our friends asked us why everyone in our church is addicted to energy drinks πŸ˜‚
- We taught Ryan about the Holy Ghost and then he made us milkshakes and we had some good laughs πŸ₯€
- One of the new greenies from Uruguay got here early, so we took him to an English lesson πŸ˜¬
- We barely made it on time to pick up all the new missionaries, but they came in when we were in the baΓ±o πŸ˜‘
- I took out Elders Nielson and McFarlane for their first night of missionary work. We got kicked out of a parking lot and bashed twice. It was awesome! πŸ˜
- We had transfers πŸ₯² Elder Paxman went to his dream bike area, so now its just Elder Daniel and me keeping the mission from burning...
- It was the smoothest transfer in my time here... I felt stressed that we were forgetting something the whole time haha
- The departing missionaries came and stayed at our house Thursday night, and then we took them to the airport the next morning. Probably the happiest group I've taken so far πŸ˜‚
- We started our mission wide Book of Mormon reading challenge πŸ€“
- We had the quickest transfer planning in history πŸ’ͺ🏼
- Caroline joined us for four lessons in one day... What a legend πŸ˜Ž
- We taught Alan about tithing, fast offerings, and the temple. He was blown away by the temple and is so excited to go do baptisms for the dead after his own baptism
- Mauricio gave us bean tacos πŸ˜ unfortunately they made my stomach feel like I was getting stabbed πŸ˜… Still taught a great lesson after tho
- We had dinner with Elder Bursett and his family. They gave us so many taquitos that we were about to explode, and then they brought out the cake...

It was a pretty good week overall. We're quickly adjusting to the duo dynamic, and I'm really excited to see how this transfer goes. I love you all, let me know how you're doing :)

Spiritual Thought:
This week we started our speed read of the Book of Mormon as a mission. Unfortunately my plans to finish it before starting the challenge did not go through, and I ended up jumping from Helaman to the beginning ☹️ Buttt, I got a cool perspective because the Lord was telling Nephi details about how his posterity would fight against that of his brothers if they weren't righteous. That was exactly what I was reading about before! I realized how much foresight would have been required on the part Joseph Smith if he had written the Book of Mormon. Obviously we know he didn't, but it testifies to me that the book really is divinely inspired and is a true history of people trying to follow Jesus Christ. I know that's true. What else matters?

Day: golf day πŸŒπŸ»‍♂️

Pushup Count: 139

Buenos dΓas a todos! We're going to play golf this morning so I'm going to try to get this email out as soon as possible. Here's what happened this week:

- We taught FHE and then went to the gym πŸ˜
- We went down to Valencia for district council and got chipotle πŸ˜‹
- I went on exchanges with Elder Hibbert. He's a super good missionary and we had some good conversations
- We taught our awesome friends Alan and Euphemia again. They're super excited for their baptisms
- We taught Mauricio about enduring to the end and it was awesome!
- I got bashed twice in one day... πŸ˜¬
- We had MLC and led a training on having urgency by making a zone leader shoot free throws. It was sweet πŸ˜Ž
- I bet told Elder Daniel that if he could tell me the Spanish word for ice cream I would buy it for him. Unfortunately he immediately knew it... And I bought us all ice cream πŸ˜‚

Nothing too crazy this week. I hope you enjoy the spiritual thought :)

Spiritual Thought:
I found this super sweet quote yesterday reading a talk in comp study:

"We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day." — Richard G. Scott

Alma 34:31 teaches us that when we repent, the plan of redemption IMMEDIATELY works in our lives. If you want to be something different in the future, it starts with today. Christ's atonement gives you power to make immediate change that will make a huge impact on your future.

Que onda mi gente? Welcome to another average email from Elder PΓ‘gina where nothing crazy happened and he forgot to journal about it πŸ˜‚. Highlights:

- Last pday President Burton made us all burgers and we had a kickball tournament and ultimate frisbee
- I went on exchanges to Littlerock with all my favorite Elders. We pretty much just knocked doors the whole time but it was fun
- I ate way to many mini donuts at institute... But they were sooo good πŸ˜‚
- I went to the east side for exchanges with Elders Jeppeson and Allen. We ate the last of their mac and cheese for lunch and then we had to go out for dinnerπŸ˜‚
- Way too much goat cheese in my salad
- It hailed on us super hard while we knocked doors πŸ₯³
- We taught our friend Alan about the plan of salvation and he thought it was so cool πŸ˜Ž
- On Friday we taught Ryan about the aaronic priesthood, which he understood perfectly, and then on Sunday we participated as Andrew ordained him
- We went to the baptism of one of the sisters' friends and our friend Euphemia came πŸ˜
- I saw Hermano Esquer at the church! One of my favorite members from back in the day
- I ate 10 enchiladas at Aldair's house and then we had an awesome discussion on how science proves God's existence

I apologize, this next week I'll actually write stuff down so I remeber it when it comes time to write this thing. But I love you all, hope you have a good week!

Spiritual Thought:
We read a really cool talk yesterday about dispensations and apostasy and it reminded me of how God loves us enough to be constantly reaching out, even when we don't accept it. Think about something in your life that God is trying to help you with, but you're too stubborn to accept. I promise you as you think about that question, you'll find a way to let Him into your life even more.
