Un misionero con un presidente lastimao

Day: 2334

Pushup Count: 109

Buenos dias a todos! This was a pretty standard week, but hopefully I'll be able to make this somewhat entertaining. Highlights:

- Last pday we had an activity out in Wasco where we made burgers and played kickball. Unfortunately it was cut short by President tearing his bicep... He's all good though no se preocupen
- On Tuesday we went to the biggest district council I've ever been too. Poor Elder Otteman had both us and the zone leaders show up πŸ˜‚
- We started exchanges over Angry Chix and of course I got hot while everyone else got mild. The dude taking my order goes, "that's ghost pepper, you good with that?" It wasn't terrible, but I can't imagine the next two levels πŸ˜…
- Elder Durkin and I taught the strangest lesson in an old folks home
- I saw an old member at institute. He went off to college at the end of December... Yes I'm still here
- We drew the premortal life and the fall for Navan. My drawing skills are improving πŸ˜Ž
- We ate paninis πŸ˜‚
- Elder Sjoblom and I taught a cool guy named Vincent and doubled up on lessons with Alan πŸ˜
- I said a prayer in church πŸ€·πŸ½‍♂️
- We found out who our new companion is going to be πŸ˜ We'll pick him up on Wednesday
- Tone bought us innout πŸ˜‹
- I listened to the spirit and then we had a super good contact with a guy that needed to talk to us... Don't fight the EspΓritu

AsΓ nada loco pasΓ³. But thanks for reading. Love you all!

Spiritual Thought:
I was reading in Job this week and came across some super cool verses. Job is complaining about all the bad stuff that's happening and his friend responds with this:

"Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword."

Sometimes God let's us go through hard things, but that doesn't mean that he's left us alone. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5

Un misionero con un gato muerto

Day: 2 post cat

Pushup Count: 115

Buenos dias a todos! This was a good week here in Bakersfield, nothing too crazy. Except a dead cat in our garage... But we'll get to that. Highlights:

- Last pday we play a game where we all got a couple of minutes to paint and then we rotated canvases. We got some pretty interesting results... πŸ˜‚
- Carter and Ammon came to visit us! They've been home for about nine months now πŸ€―
- We went to Tehachapi for district council and then I started exchanges with Elder Cederholm over Chipotle. We bought them gas and got a free pizza, and then Andrew came out with us for most of the day and we had a blast
- The next day we headed down to Santa Clarita and I had exchanges with Elder Suliafu. He's also super cool. We went to a youth volleyball game, taught a lesson with a crazy dog, and then he almost died on our run (but it wasn't my fault this time I promise)
- I got a weird juice thingy at yums and it was good but kinda tasted like dirt...
- I found someone to teach on Facebook πŸ˜ We had a 20 minute lesson on prayer over messenger. Technology is pretty cool πŸ˜Ž
- We found out one of our friends' parents won't allow them to be baptized :( but that's okay we'll be patient :)
- We went to the temple! I took pictures of everyone, and we filled an entire endowment room in the second largest temple in the world πŸ˜
- I went on exchanges with Elder Ricks! We had three awesome lessons in a row and then got jamba juice.
- Okay time for the cat. I was praying right before leaving the house but was rudely interrupted by some crazy sounds coming from the garage. I thought someone was breaking in, so I paused the prayer and slowly opened the door. Turns out I had left the garage open all night, and that the sounds we were hearing were a cat dying in the corner... By the time we got off the phone with our housing coordinator it had died, so we threw it in a trash bag and he's on his way to the dump...
- We had dinner with Rigel and Orion and met their giant bloodhound Rusty
- Yesterday was Easter πŸ˜± we sang in the choir at church, went to a carne asada at Andrew's dad's house, and then had dinner with Aldair. It was a good one πŸ˜

Happy late Easter to everyone! Let me know if you did anything fun, love you!

Spiritual Thought
Have you ever thought about how life changing the information in John 20 (among other places in the Bible and Book of Mormon) is? If you haven't, go read it and reflect. He lives!

Un misionero con cocacola

Day: first 90° of the year

Pushup Count: 121

Buenas tardes a todos! I'm running out of time today so we'll see how fast I can type. Here's what happened this week:

- Last pday we went to the mall because forever 21 had a closing sale... Elder Daniel just likes to shop πŸ˜‚
- We went to the airport to pick up a missionary and he never showed... πŸ˜¬ Luckily we got everything figured out and he made it a couple days later
- I went on exchanges with Elder Horsley to my old area Esperanza. We did a lot of service, and a member gave us $50 for dinner πŸ˜± so we went to a nice restaurante and got Mexian cokes and shrimp tacos
- I had an exchange with Elder Libby where we taught our new friend Diego and ate donuts. We also got stuck in traffic for 30 minutes so we had a lot of bonding time
- We made tostadas de huevo because we ran out of tortillas to make the usual egg tacos
- I went to La Cresta on exchanges with Elder Davis. I got to speak Spanish, and we had an absolute blast
- Elder Archibald and I ran for 40 minutes πŸ˜
- We had interviews with President Burton and we talked about charity and virtue
- We had one last lesson with Ryan (again)
- Yesterday we had second sunday supper and tried like a million casseroles
- We saw a chicken cross the road
- Alan got baptized! Andrew baptized him, and I gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. It was one of the best I've been to πŸ˜

More stuff probably happened this week, but I just can't remember. Hopefully next week will be better haha.

Spiritual Thought:
This week I got some tough news from back home, but very shortly after reading it, I felt the spirit comfort me and tell me everything would be okay as long as I worked as hard as I could. So I did. I'm super grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost :)

Un misionero con amigos :)

Day: yo light shinin

Pushup Count: 127

Como estamos? This was a crazy week. A lot of days just absolutely falling into bed and I loved it. Here's what happened:

- Last pday we went to Elder Eagar's house and I played his guitar until I got a blister.... πŸ˜
- Wednesday was zone conference number one in Santa Clarita. The best part was probably that we finished out entire portion two minutes early πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
- Wednesday night we drove back, taught a lesson on campus, and then ate cobbler at institute πŸ˜Ž
- The next day was pretty much the exact same thing, zc, lesson with the same friend, going to campus, etc...
- We had a pass off lesson with our new friend Diego, and then that night we called a referral we had just recieved. And Diego answered... Very strange πŸ˜‚ Guess he responded to a few ads jaja
- We taught Navan about the timeline of the Bible and Book of Mormon and it was so much fun. I got to draw it all up on the chalkboard and I enjoyed it a little too much πŸ˜‚
- The last zone conference was probably my favorite. Our training went well, I got to see the Mojave building again, and I got three sandwiches at lunch
- Right after zc we started exchanges with Elders Stauffer and Karren. Elder Stauffer and I ate tostadas on the couch and he showed me videos of his dog. We also did a lot of missionary work don't worry
- We taught Alan twice. He's so ready for baptism it's insane
- We got Chipotle in Tehachapi between sessions of conference πŸŒΆ️
- We watched conference on the giant tv at the mission office and pulled in a couple of chairs from the foyer. It was sweet πŸ˜Ž
- We got caught by some proselyting Muslims at the park yesterday who offered us free Qurans. They weren't the nicest to us tho... πŸ˜¬
- We got the temple trip planned out finally πŸ™ŒπŸΌ That takes a big load off our plates... For a sec πŸ˜‚

Super good week. It's a good feeling to just be absolutely exhausted every night. Hopefully it's not quite so stressful next week though πŸ˜…. Looking forward to exchange season and some temple trips πŸ’ͺ🏼. Love y'all :)

Spiritual Thought
Go watch conference if you haven't yet πŸ˜ Their spiritual thoughts are way better than anything you're going to read here.
