Un misionero con muchas linternas

Day: sweater weather πŸ˜Š (that means a high of 70 for all you non Californians)

Pushup Count: 259

Que tal, como estamos? I only forgot to journal once this week, so hopefully I can remember everything that happened. AsΓ todo se bajΓ³:

-  On Pday one of the senior missionaries took us golfing. It was super fun even though I'm terrible πŸŒπŸ½‍♂️⛳
- On Tuesday I went to Ridgecrest for the first time ever. It's a wild place. I got to see my good friend Elder Kerner and spent the night with Elder Forward who's super cool
- I saw the stars πŸ˜±
- I watched a mouse build a nest on the neighbors balcony πŸ
- From Ridgecrest I went to South Bakersfield with Elders Lopez and Blackburn and we had an absolute blast. We went to their ward trunk or treat and judged their chili contest and then talked to people at Walmart πŸ˜‹
- One of their members gave us free mcflurry gift cards so we all got those
- We had Halloween. It's pretty lame as a missionary, we just cleaned and watched the new book of Mormon video, but it was the last Halloween of my mission πŸ˜±
- I went on another exchange with Elder Cary and we had a great time. A good Spanish study in the campus library (still a weird feeling), and then an awesome lesson with our friend Ryan who hopefully will he deciding to be baptized soon πŸ€žπŸΌ
- We saw a groundhog or something on campus
- We had a district Spanish study. Not super productive but a lot of fun to see everyone and I got to speak Spanish sooo I can't complain
- Bishop made us a LOT of tri tip. And we ate it all πŸ˜‚ I miss mexican food but it was a good meal
- I took a risk and opened to a random page of the Book of Mormon during a street contact. Luckily I found a scripture about Jesus. Good thing it's not that hard since the whole book is about him πŸ˜‰
- Last night we went to the park to talk to people and it was absolutely packed. It's turns out we had stumbled upon a lantern festival so we got to talk to like a million people and then watch them launch the lanterns. Elder Purcell even got up on stage there and bore his testimony to like a thousand people. It was super cool

Also, as of a couple days ago I've completed two-thirds of my mission, so that's pretty cool. Anyways, let me know how y'all're doing πŸ˜

Spiritual Thought:

3 Nephi 7:21 says —

"And it came to pass that the thirty and first year did pass away, and there were but few who were converted unto the Lord; but as many as were converted did truly signify unto the people that they had been visited by the power and Spirit of God, which was in Jesus Christ, in whom they believed"

I think it's important to note that those who were converted here weren't converted by the miracles they were seeing or because someone persuaded them to be. It was because of the Spirit of God that they were converted and stayed converted. So don't worry if you haven't seen huge miracles or anything, just pay attention to the whispers of the Spirit and you'll be alright.

Mucho amor,
