Un misionero con una sopa

Day: another hot one

Pushup Count: 337

Buen dรญa. How's it going? I'm not gonna lie, I only remembered to journal once this week, so we'll see how much I remember. Los highlights:

- We played some more legendary spikeball games
- We discussed Alma the younger over Nutella banana pancakes with an inactive member
- An inactive member told us he joined the church because he had a crush on another member who's now married and has 5 kids ๐Ÿ˜ณ (Severus Snape type beat)
- Old Man Carlos told us the same stories as every week and yet somehow I still enjoyed it ๐Ÿ˜
- I had exchanges with Elder Anderson, who's super cool. He's visa waiting to go to Ghana speaking Portuguese ๐Ÿ˜ฑ unfortunately Spanish and Portuguese are not as similar as I thought and I ended up having to teach by myself...
- We were able to bring members to a couple more lessons than usual this week, and then they all bore their testimonies of coming with us during sacrament meeting on Sunday ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ If you get the chance to go with the missionaries, do it! It's super helpful for our friends and for you
- Our service gave us a bunch of kale so I made super mid zuppa toscana and it was amazing ๐Ÿ˜‹
- One of our friends works on Sunday so we've been praying super hard that he can find a way to come to church. Unfortunately that blessing came in the form of him losing his job... But please pray for him! That he comes to church and that he finds a new trabajo
- We had an awesome lesson with a returning member where we read the story of the brother of Jared with him
- At our member meal last night we were eating tacos on corn tortillas when Hermana Ibarra switched and started making them on flour tortillas, or "tortillas de harina". My dear compy goes (in spanish), "what type of meat is flour?" thinking that harina meant some different type of meat. I quickly told him what harina meant before Hna Ibarra came back so that he didn't sound dumb, but we all had a good laugh about it ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's getting hot again... The weather tricked us by giving us a couple days under 100, but we're going back up again now. I'll survive though... At least it's not 115 yet... Besides the heat, the work's going good, Elder Hanson's awesome, Spanish keeps improving, so I can't complain. Let me know how y'all are doing, sorry this was kind of a boring week ๐Ÿ˜‚

Spiritual Thought:

There's been a ton of emphasis on Alma the younger this week with Come Follow Me, so I'll hop on the bandwagon as well. Here's one of my favorite verses from Alma 36:

"(24) Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost."

If you've been converted, if you've used the atonement, go share it! It's doesn't have to be anything big, but don't deny anyone the joy that comes from the gospel of Jesus Christ if you have the opportunity to share it with them.

Mucho amor,
