Un misionero con muchos tamales

Day: new years

Buenos días! I opened my journal this morning and realized that I haven't written in six days, so let's see what I can temember.

- We ate soool many tamales  It was pretty cool though cause I got to try like 4 different kinds. I think my favorite are El Salvadoreños

- Had a good Christmas :)

- We have a friend who's really into conspiracy theories, so we told Elder Reynolds that he would believe anything. Elder Reynolds decided to tell him that they cloned Kanye West, and our friend responded by saying that he obviously already knew that and that they've been cloning people for years 

- I got a Chick-fil-A kids meal

- Latinos made us American food again... This time it was lasagna and it was super greasy 

- I asked for a little bit more food at a member meal and they brought me an entire new plate and then I still had to each arroz con leche, It was a challenge for sure

- We had a fun day with zero successful contacts until our final lesson (still not the worst day I've had ) 

- The other Elders took our car so we had a walk day for a few hours... Except our area is sooo big that we couldn't really get much done

- After a half hour contact with a member, he told us we had to eat dinner with them, so we got trapped at their house forever and they fed us basically pig fat and potatoes.... Not a pleasant texture 

- I learned everything there is to know about photography so that when our camera guy get transferred we don't fall apart (but I'm basically a pro now) 

- Our fridge was super full, so I decided to clean out the old food (which was disgusting by the way), and now our fridge is completely empty  good thing it's pday

- New years is super lame as a missionary... It's just another day except we have to be home by 7

- I happened to be doing vocab on Spanish Dict right when the leader board reset, so I was number one in the world for a little bit which is kinda cool I guess

- We went to in in out and it made me miss going at 1 am so much

- I spoke in church yesterday with two other missionaries, and it was super fun and super nerve racking to give a talk in Spanish. The Hermano cunducting said that I was gonna speak first and that the sister missionary would speak second, but she just heard her name and didn't understand anything else, so she got up the second he stopped talking and stole my spot 

I'm not sure exactly why, but December has been super long. Hopefully things pick up speed a little bit as I hit my blackout year (full calendar year as a missionary) and my six month mark this week. I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Years, let me know if you did anything fun!

Spiritual Thought:

I hope y'all have had the chance to make new years resolutions to try and be better this year. I encourage you all to stick to them, and if you haven't yet, add one that will bring you closer to your Savior. He loves you and wants you to get to know Him :)
